I went to the Mets doubleheader on Monday and was very surprised, even taken aback by two hilarious occurrences:
- In game one, Nick Evans first at-bat was accompanied by a Bob Dylan walk-up song. Despite the fact that thousands of children were in attendance, the song played loud and clear with lyrics detailing "selling hash and cocaine".
- In games one and two, as is typically done, a Bobby Parnell's warm up music contained lyrics from Jake Owen's "8 Second Ride". Lyrics include, as they play uncensored, "I slipped by dick inside".
It's pretty awesome that despite their second-half attendance troubles due to their inability to win at home, the Mets, now in competition to draw in the crowd with the U.S Tennis Center across the street, chooses to play such vulgar music. More power to ya, Citi Field!
